Sasanian Empire, Ardashir III, Silver Drachm, 3.60g, AYL (Ērān-āsān-kar-Kawād) Mint, Obv: Draped bust of Ardashir III to right, wearing an elaborate mural crown with two wings, behind head, “p̄zwn” ('increase' in Pahlavi), before head, “rthštr” ('Ardashir' in Pahlavi), small crescent and star to the right of brow, Rev: Fire altar with ribbons, flanked by two attendants, above altar, star and crescent, mint signature to right (Göbl type II/1). Very fine, rare.
