
Post Mauryan, Marathwada/East Vidarbha Region, Probably attributed to the ‘Mitra’ dynasty, Copper Uninscribed die-struck, 4.54g, “Gajalakshmi” type, Obv: Abhisheka of Goddess Lakshmi, depicted in her symbolic form as a ‘Srivatsa’, resting on a lotus pedestal and flanked by elephants anointing her while standing on lotuses. Small ancillary symbols in the field, Rev: elaborate tree in railing, flanked by small ancillary symbols like Nandipadas, ‘Ujjain’ symbols etc. Very fine, very rare.
