Shams al-Din Iltutmish, Silver Tanka, 10.68g, Obv: Arabic legend in double rectangle "al-Sultan al-'Azam Shams al-Dunya wa al-Din Abu al-Muzaffar Iltutmish (al-Sultan)", in border "Min Kharaj Qanau(j)…", Rev: Arabic legend in double rectangle "Fi Ahd al-Imam al-Mustansir Amir al-Mumineen", traces of date in the margin (G&G# D36). Cleaned, very fine, very rare. These coins were struck from the land tax ('kharaj') of the province of "Qanauj and Kafar" (infidels) this coin shows the beginning of this inscription clearly.
