Shams al-Din Iltutmish, Silver Tanka, 10.76g, Obv: Arabic legend in double rectangle "al-Sultan al-'Azam Shams al-Dunya wa al-Din Abu al-Muzaffar Iltutmish (al-Sultan)", Rev: Arabic legend in double rectangle "Fi Ahd al-Imam al-Mustansir Amir al-Mumineen" traces of date in the margin (G&G# D36). Cleaned, very fine, very rare. These coins were struck from the land tax ('kharaj') of the province of "Qanauj and Kafar" (infidels).
