Satavahanas, Newase-Paithan region, attributed to Siri Satakani, Alloyed Copper, 5.33g, “Lion” type, Obv: Lion jumping to right, Brahmi legend “Rano Siri Satakanisa”, Rev: Tree with large leaves in a railing with Taurine’s in four corners, all enclosed in a dotted rectangular border. Very fine, very rare. Coins of this type are generally encountered as small fractions without legends. An inscribed full unit of the type is extremely rare.
