Samatata region, Anonymous Gold Dinar, 5.58g, copying Gupta coin designs, early variety with letters in the obverse field, Obv: Stylised representation of a nimbate 'archer' type king, holding bow in one hand and arrow in the other, with a crudely executed 'Shankha' standard in the backdrop; Brahmi letters Sa-Na? below the hand holding the bow, Rev: Stylised female figure standing holding a ball-like object in her hand, and curvilinear drapes behind her back; unread legend in the right field (ECB SAM4.2). Very fine+, very rare.
