Gujarat Region, Rashtrakutas?, Probably attributed to ‘Nityawarsha’, Copper Alloyed, 2.72g, Obv: Fish to right, Brahmi legend “Shri Nitya” above, Rev: Indistinct, probably a Garuda motif. Very fine, extremely rare. During 8th -10th centuries a branch of the imperial Rashtrakutas ruled in Lata or South Gujarat region. Two inscriptions of Rashtrakuta king named ‘Nityavarsha’ are known from Navsari. The attribution of this coin to the Rashtrakutas of Gujarat is tentative, but most likely.
