
Konch, Silver Rupee,11.20g, in the name of Shah Alam II, AH1175/RY3, (Not published in M&W). Very fine+, extremely rare. The town of Konch was earlier in possession of Naro Shankar, the Peshwa’ssubahdar for Bundelkhand. After the battle of Panipat, the Maratha hold in Bundelkhand was threatened by Rohillas and the Nawab of Awadh; however, Malhar Rao Holkar re-established it in mid-1760s.
