Satavahanas, Siri Satakani, South-Central Maharashtra, Square Copper, 6.46g, “Arched hill- Bheema Valley” type, Obv: Three arched hill with crescent in the centre, wavy line below; Brahmi legend reading counter-clockwise outwards “Raño Siri…” around, Rev: Ujjain symbol with one orb modified with a crescent. Extremely fine for type, very rare. Although the legend on this coin is ‘Siri Satakani’, the typology and the stylistics indicate that it must have been issued by Gotamiputa Siri Satakani in the late 1st century AD.
