
South Malwa, Narmada- Tapi Divide, Uninscribed die-struck lead Coin, 7.64g, Obv: Tree in railing, Ujjain symbol and Taurine symbol struck as a deep incused die, Rev: Traces of triangle-headed standard, Taurine and small Nandyavarta symbols (Unpublished in major sources). Patinated, extremely fine, very rare. Uninscribed coins of this sort have been known from sites in South and North-Western Malwa. Some of these have inscriptions suggesting they were struck at the end of the Sunga period (c. 200-150BC).
