Satavahanas, Newase-Paithan region, Siri Satakani (c.100-50BC), Lead, 9.73g, “Jumping lion” type, Obv: Lion with raised tail jumping to right, Brahmi legend “Raño Siri Satakanisa” above, Rev: Tree with broad leaves within a railing, ancillary symbols (triangle-headed standard, Nandipada etc) around. Very fine+, extremely rare. The ‘jumping lion’ type is very commonly represented by uninscribed fractions but much rarer in the full denomination, inscribed variety.
