Satavahanas, Nasik region, Siri Satakani (c.100-50BC), Alloyed Copper, 10.49g, “Elephant” type, Obv: Elephant with raised trunk standing facing right, Swastika above; Brahmi legend “…Sataka…” above its back. A bold countermark of a Shrivatsa applied in the bottom right corner, Rev: Traces of a tree in railing obliterated partly under the obverse countermark’s impression. Extremely fine, extremely rare.
