Satavahanas Nasik region, Siri Satakani (c.100-50BC), Alloyed Copper, 6.40g, “Elephant” type, Obv: Elephant with raised trunk standing facing left, an inverted triangle-headed standard in front, Brahmi legend “Raño Siri Satakanisa” engraved upside down above its back. The entire motif is enclosed in a border of Swastikas and there is a bold countermark of Swastika applied in the right corner, Rev: In a dotted border, tree in railing with Nandipadas flanking it. Extremely fine, very rare.
