Punch Marked, Attributed to Magadha Janapada, Silver 1/4 Shatamana?- 1/2 Vimshatika, 2.64g, “Series 0”, Bold six-armed symbol punched in the centre; small symbols around on obverse (Similar to Rajgor series 9 but denomination not listed). Extremely fine, extremely rare. Coins weighing around 5.5 gm and classified as ‘1/2 Shatamana’ standard are perhaps the earliest coins of the Magadha series. They later evolve into Vimshatikas of four-punched mark type and Karshapanas of ‘series 0’. This is an extremely rare fractional issue in this early series.
