Punch Marked, Attributed to Magadha Janapada, Silver Karshapana, 3.13g, “Golakpur Hoard” type, Four symbol pattern of earlier Vimashatika retained but weight standard reduced to that of Karshapana. 5th symbol was added later on. These issues possibly strucked immediately after the Magadha capital was shifted from Rajgriha to Patliputra, tentatively correspondence to the period of King Ajatshatru. Magadha was still a Janapada during the issuance of these coin.
