Gupta, Samudra Gupta, Gold Dinar, “Standard” type, 7.36g, Obv: Nimbate king standing, wearing tunic and trousers, holding a standard in one hand and offering sacrifice with the other, Garuda banner in the backdrop; Brahmi legend “Samudra” below the hand holding the standard and “Samara…” in the exergue, Rev: Nimbate Goddess seated on high-backed throne, holding cornucopia and noose, Brahmi legend “Parakrama” to right and a Tamgha to left (Altekar Class I, variety A). Very fine, rare.
