Gupta, Samudra Gupta, Gold Dinar, 7.62g, “Standard” type, Obv: Nimbate king standing, wearing tunic and trousers, holding a standard in one hand and offering sacrifice with the other, Garuda banner in the backdrop, Brahmi legend “Samudra” below the hand holding the standard and “..VitataVija…” with traces of a few other letters visible in the exergue, Rev: Nimbate Goddess seated on throne without a back, holding cornucopia and noose, Brahmi legend “Parakramah” to right and a Tamgha to left (Altekar Class I, variety E). Extremely fine+, rare.
